A world in danger from ever-increasingly dark and mysterious forces and the best solution life can summon up is a joke-telling killer whale, with too much to say, and a young teen who doesn’t speak at all? Seriously? Dumb Animal, is a tribute to Oscar Wilde’s The Happy Prince; and tells the story of Toussaint, who has stopped talking to all people. After an eventful visit to Seaview, the only aquatic stadium in the UK to house killer whales and dolphins, he develops a deep connection and form of communication with the orca, Khallum. Using mostly coloured, orb-inspired powers, obtained from a perilous quest that Toussaint has to undertake, Khallum and Toussaint develop a sometimes-vexed alliance to help ease human problems and suffering whilst on various assignments. However, their escapades lead them to a terrifying discovery that is not only a danger to themselves, and the world, but to other important realms normally hidden from most of humanity.
