Author Roger Bensaid managed to get his to the top of Mount Everest!
He sent us this cheeky photo of his new book Spymaster Allegro atop the Earth's highest mountain. Mount Everest is located in the Mahalangur mountain range in Nepal and Tibet and stands 8,848 metres above sea level. His book is a continuation of his first fiction publication, following Major Rodney Brown;
"Major Rodney Brown, invalided out of the army, finds himself in a section o fhte British secret service that deals with matters that do not fall neatly into the remit of either the Foreign Office or the Home Office or that neither of them wants to deal with. This second Major Brown adventure takes him and his team from the streets of London to Somalia. While his nemesis Brigadier General Tsyghankov forms his team in Dacha to bring havoc to the UK using the IRA. They travel to Afhanistan, Moscow, SPlit Libya, Ireland, France, Canal du Midi and Toulouse before setting foot in the UK and SOuthern Ireland and setting up a mission devised by general Tsygankov to cripped a major arm of the British Army and Major Rodney Brown."
Roger Bensaid spent 24 years in the army, and a further 17 years in the gas and oil industry before becoming a specialist consultant for 10 years that took him to many of the world's conflict zones, often in support of the services he has the highest regard for. When asked why he did it, he said "to give something back".
