As the darkness of the night faded and the first rays of morning light spilled onto the city, the heat was already promising to make this day more uncomfortable than it needed to be. It had been a long and hot summer, but everything had been leading to this moment. In less than twenty four hours this would be over and the present will become the past. It was all supposed to be so simple. August, 2051, and the restructuring of London had almost reached its intended conclusion. The gentrification that had begun long ago had succeeded, but it had always been at face value. What had happened to those who had fallen between the cracks and been pushed down on until their very existence was deniable? Zero tolerance in these dark once-colourful days. Keep your head down, serve up whatever they were asking for, get out of the game and count your money, right? Even the wildest conspiracy can carry echoes of the truth within. Whether this is fact or fiction, true reality or complex illusion, is for you to decide and you alone. Be careful, for one day we may all become outlaws.
